Friday Things... 12-14-18

No one has ever accused December as being a “slow month”. Instead, it seems everyone is exclaiming over how much they have to do and how fast its moving, etc. The reality of a contractor, is that both statements are true. In our personal lives we have an endless list of things we want to do and at work we are busy installing, but new business isn’t overwhelming us.

As we peel back the curtain once again, these are highlights of our week.

  • WE SAW SANTA!!!!!

  • We were able to start the last siding install of 2018!

  • We passed out our Installer Holiday Gifts and were very flattered to see that they were using them right away. This Yeti Thermos is perfect year round and durable enough for the job site. A thrilling find for sure!

  • Our Holiday Cards have been mailed! We had quite the assembly line going at one point as we prepared all of them for mailing. One morning Steve had such a line gathering behind him at the Post Office that he stopped, drove around, and got back into line. How’s that for holiday spirit?

  • Steve and John did an install together on Wednesday. Partially to help us stay on track, but it was also a great opportunity for John to see a full install beginning to end which will only help him explain how the process works. We really believe that a salesman with knowledge is an asset. Of course those two worked so hard they didn’t get me any great pictures.

  • We are looking for help staffing our booths at home shows this January, starting January 4-6. If you know someone who can stand on their feet for 6 hours, who isn’t nervous about talking to people walking by, and who can ask for the appointment, refer them to me! We pay by the hour, by the appointment, and offer a daily parking/food stipend.

  • Our new website had a bit of fine tuning this week which is really helping it to shape up.

  • T loves watching baking shows on TV, and is basically forcing me into Royal Icing for our sugar cookies and gingerbread men this weekend. We have watched several YouTube videos and are feeling slightly confident. Are you a fan of Royal Icing? Pics to follow next week!

  • This weekend we have tickets to The Nutcracker at the Hopkins Center for Performing Arts (it is performed with a live orchestra!!) and to The Grinch at The Children’s Theater. Steve the Window Guy loves The Grinch.

Thanks for checking in on our little corner of the world. Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Steve, Melissa and T Brager
